A 31-year-old Akron man is accused of shooting a Cuyahoga Falls man in the thigh during a late-night fight last week in the city’s Merriman Valley neighborhood.
Joseph W. King III was charged with felonious assault, having weapons while under disability, carrying concealed weapons, possession of marijuana and open container.
The dispute began when King and another driver refused to yield to each other in a parking lot at 1:35 a.m. Thursday off Weathervane Lane. King and Kevin M. Matheny, 27, of Cuyahoga Falls, who was a passenger, got into a physical confrontation and Matheny was shot in the thigh while he had King in a head lock, a police report says.
