Las Vegas lovers, you can get there from Akron-Canton Airport again.

Spirit Airlines late Wednesday announced it was adding once daily nonstop service to Las Vegas on April 27, the same day it will also start Myrtle Beach, S.C., service.

Akron-Canton travelers have not had a nonstop option to Las Vegas since Southwest Airlines reduced its destinations earlier this year in April.

The news comes a day after Allegiant Air said it was pulling out of Akron-Canton Airport, taking its six destinations to Cleveland Hopkins International Airport and adding four new destinations.

Spirit Airlines hasn’t started service at Akron-Canton Airport yet. On Nov. 10, it will begin service to five of the six destinations that Allegiant serves. (Allegiant will leave Feb. 10).

In a news release, Mark Kopczak, Spirit Airlines vice president of network planning said: “Spirit customers love saving money on air travel, using their savings to make memories on vacation. We are thrilled to add Las Vegas to the list of exciting destinations coming to Akron-Canton this year. Whether you’re looking for a Florida beach getaway, a golf trip to Myrtle Beach or an escape to the Las Vegas Strip, our ultra-low fares and nonstop flights make planning that dream vacation more affordable than ever before.”

Spirit Airlines will begin service at Akron-Canton on Nov. 10, with nonstop service to four Florida destinations: daily to Orlando and Fort Lauderdale and seasonal service several times a week to Fort Myers and Tampa. Daily flights to and from Myrtle Beach and Las Vegas will start April 27.

“We are excited for the growth of Spirit Airlines at the Akron-Canton Airport. With new nonstop service to Las Vegas from CAK, customers have a wonderful, affordable option to get to one of their most requested leisure destinations,” said Rick McQueen, president and CEO of Akron-Canton Airport.
