A 26-year-old Randolph Township man has been charged with raping a 4-year-old girl over the weekend.
Coleman P. Peace is charged with rape of a child under age 10, a felony punishable by up to life in prison if he’s convicted.
According to the Portage County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a report shortly after noon on Saturday that the girl had been sexually assaulted. Peace, an acquaintance of the girl’s family, was identified as a suspect, and an interrogation led to Peace’s arrest.
He’s being held at the Portage County Jail without bond and is scheduled for arraignment in Ravenna Municipal Court at 1:15 p.m. Monday.
