Backed-up traffic in the southbound lane of state Route 8 is now moving steadily after first responders cleared the right hand lane of the Route 8 bridge near Perkins Street in Akron of a vehicle accident earlier this morning.
The incident significantly backed up traffic after 8 a.m. today. Traffic was backed up to Howe Avenue in Cuyahoga Falls as of 8:30 a.m.
By 8:45 a.m., the bridge scene was cleared, easing the backup.
The Ohio Department of Transportation said the incident closed the right lane. Traffic cameras showed at least one ambulance on the scene.
