TALLMADGE
Apartment complex nixed
TALLMADGE: City Council’s planning and zoning committee on Thursday rejected a revised application for a 32-unit apartment complex by Merryweather Real Estate.
“The developer showed improvement in the revised plan, but the planning and zoning committee would have preferred condos for the space rather than the proposed rental apartments,” Mayor David Kline said. Most council members on the zoning committee agreed there wasn’t enough space for the project, as 3 acres is considered tight for a 32-unit townhouse. They also questioned the availability of space for a proper ingress/egress.
Councilwoman At-Large Kimberly Ray, a member of Planning and Zoning, said: “It sounds like a nice project, just not for that location.”
