Two 16-year-old males told Akron police they were robbed of their marijuana and cigarettes while walking on Atwood Avenue shortly before noon Saturday.

The teens said two males walked up behind them. One suspect grabbed one of the victims around the neck and stuck something in his lower back. When the victim turned around, the suspect had his right hand in his pocket, as if he had a gun, and demanded that the victim empty his pockets. The suspect took two grams of marijuana from the victim, according to Akron police.

The second suspect demanded that the other victim empty his pockets and took a pack of cigarettes. The first suspect threatened to shoot the victims and both suspects then fled, according to police.

The suspects are two black males. The first is 15 to 17 years old, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches, 145 to 160 pounds with black, medium length spiked hair. He wore a gray hooded sweatshirt and black pants.

The second suspect is 17 to 18 years old, 6 foot 1 to 6 foot 2 inches, 140 pounds with short black hair. He wore a navy blue shirt with a doughboy on the front.

A police spokesman said the victims did not face charges for drug possession or underage possession of cigarettes.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Akron Police Department’s Detective Bureau at 330-375-2490.
