NORTHFIELD CENTER TWP.: A 52-year-old Stow woman was killed at 7:15 a.m. Wednesday in a one-car crash on Interstate 271 southbound.
The woman, who has not been identified publicly, was driving a 2012 Toyota Corolla that went off the right side of the highway and struck a construction equipment trailer, the Summit County Sheriff’s Office said.
She was pronounced dead at the scene. One lane of the highway was closed for about three hours.
The woman was not wearing a seat belt.
The Summit Metro Crash Response Team is investigating the crash, but authorities believe speed was a factor.
