Watch documentaries in Akron
Downtown Akron hosts two documentary screenings Tuesday:
■ Blood on the Mountain, the new film about the coal industry in West Virginia by Akron’s Mari-Lynn Evans, will be shown at 7 p.m. at the Akron Civic Theatre, with a panel discussion to follow. Tickets are free at http://bit.ly/2nrz2le. A prescreening reception with Evans and others involved with the film will be held at Nuevo Modern Mexican, 54 E. Mill St., beginning at 5:30 p.m.; tickets are $100 and can be reserved at the same site.
■ Generation Found, about an effort in Houston to address youth addiction, will be shown at 4 p.m. at the Akron-Summit County Main Library, 60 S. Main St. It also includes a performance by Matt Butler, who wrote and performs the song Just One in the documentary. It’s free; register at summitgenerationfound.eventbrite.com. A follow-up discussion will be held 4 to 5:30 p.m. Monday in the Summit County Public Health Auditorium, 1867 W. Market St.
Have a night out with your dog
Yappy Hours are back at the Winery at Wolf Creek. They run from 5 to 8 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month through October. You can bring your pooch along for an evening on the patio. Admission is $10 (includes a glass of wine; it’s $5 for nondrinkers) and benefits Mercy’s Door Pet Rescue.

Students from Summit Academy Transition High School will perform on the main stage at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland beginning at 10:30 a.m. The choir and instrumental group will play rock music from the ’60s through the ’80s.
