CANTON: Authorities will conduct two sobriety checkpoints Friday in Stark County, Sheriff George Maier said.
One will be held at 7 p.m. on Columbus Road Northeast in Plain Township and the other is set for 10 p.m. on Cleveland Avenue South in Canton Township.
“We intend to inform the public that officers will be vigilant in detecting and apprehending impaired drivers,” a news release issued Friday morning says. “We want to strongly recommend to those who will be consuming alcohol to plan for a designated driver or make other arrangements.”
