BATH TWP.: Two men stole a car at gunpoint from a rest stop along Interstate 77 Wednesday night and then led police on a chase on the highway that reached speeds of 100 mph, Beacon Journal news partner News 5 Cleveland reported.
The suspects later stole vehicles at gunpoint in Independence and Cleveland, the television station said.
Bath Township Sgt. Steven Brown had some advice for anyone involved in a carjacking.
“There’s nothing worth losing your life over,” he told the television station. “Be it your car, be it your wallet, there’s nothing worth getting hurt. Just give it up and live to see another day.”
