Hairstyles and healthy attitudes — along with pet care and Italian cuisine — will fill up the new retail space accompanying 365 by Whole Foods when the complex opens this year in West Akron.
The stores together will form West Market Street Station, the development nearing completion at the former site of West Point Market.
Commercial real estate development firm S.J. Collins Enterprises on Wednesday released an update confirming several leases have been signed for the site.
Two of the tenants, Orangetheory Fitness and Piada Italian Street Foods, have already been announced. Orangetheory Fitness has already opened.
Also coming to the complex:
• Anthony Vince’ Nail Spa, an upscale store that also has locations at Portage Crossing in Cuyahoga Falls and in the greater Cleveland and Columbus area.
• Great Clips, the budget hair salon chain with locations throughout the area, will be the next store to open its doors. The store opens Saturday and will celebrate throughout the month of April by offering $5.99 haircuts to every customer.
• PetPeople, featuring natural dog and cat foods and other pet supplies. The stores often accompany Whole Foods locations.
• Salon Lofts, a shared space for independent hair and beauty specialists. The chain has locations in the Montrose section of Bath Township and two others preparing to open in Hudson and Jackson Township.
The anchor store, 365 by Whole Foods Market, will be the chain’s first in the area. The 30,000-square-foot store is a new-concept, smaller version of Whole Foods.
An additional 56,000 square feet of retail space makes up the rest of the complex at North Hawkins Avenue and West Market Street.
“West Market Street Station will be a regional asset for the Akron market and the nearby Wallhaven community,” said Justin Latone, director of leasing for the center.
