A 48-year-old Stark County woman was fatally shot Friday night when a weapon accidentally discharged as it was being put away after target practice.
Robin Lilly was found about 10 p.m. by Stark County sheriff’s deputies at a property on Columbus Road NE in Nimishillen Township. She was transported to Mercy Medical Center, where she died about three hours later.
The sheriff’s office believes the shooting was accidental, but said Saturday afternoon it is not yet clear whether Lilly was the one putting away the weapon or a person who had been shooting with her.
