STRONGSVILLE: Police have released a few more details about a high-speed chase and fatal shooting by police on Interstate 71 earlier this week.
The chase, which ended in Medina Township, reached speeds of 95 mph and lasted less than 14 minutes, the Medina Gazette reports. Authorities also used spike strips to slow down the vehicle.
Roy Evans Jr., 37, of Lorain, was shot and killed by a Strongsville police officer at the end of the pursuit. Authorities told the newspaper that it has been more than six years since the last officer involved shooting for the department.
