Police are seeking an Akron man who’s accused of shooting another man several times early Saturday morning.
John Meeks, 28, is wanted on a warrant for aggravated robbery and felonious assault. Police say Meeks should be considered armed and dangerous.
According to reports, Meeks went to a California Street home and got into an argument with a 41-year-old man at about 2 a.m. Saturday. The man punched Meeks in the face, and Meeks allegedly responded by pulling out a handgun and shooting the man several times in the abdomen.
The man was transported to Cleveland Clinic Akron General for injuries that could be life-threatening.
Meeks is described as a 5-foot-6 black man weighing 160 pounds. He has a goatee.
Anyone with information about Meeks’ whereabouts is asked to alert Akron detectives at 330-375-2490. They can also call they U.S. Marshals Service at 1-866-4-WANTED or Summit County Crimestoppers Inc. at 330-434-COPS. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
