A Warren woman is accused of riding a stolen motorized shopping cart Sunday night in the middle of North Cleveland-Massillon Road in Bath Township.
Melissa Bradley, 33, was charged with fifth-degree felony theft and is being held at the Summit County Jail.
A motorist called authorities at 10:15 p.m. to report almost hitting the cart in the dark night.
“Alcohol may be playing a little bit of a factor,” Bath Police Chief Michael McNeely said Monday.
The shopping cart had been stolen from the nearby Acme Fresh Market.
The woman was heading north on Cleveland-Massillon and pulled into the Lowe’s Home Improvement store parking lot. Additional charges are pending.
Asked where she was heading, McNeely said: “That we don’t know.”
