Akron-area voters to see plenty of tax issues on May ballot

Akron-area voters will see a slew of tax issues on the May 2 ballot.

Wednesday was the 90-day deadline for communities to file issues with election boards, which still have to certify the issues.

Here’s the rundown:

Summit County

• Coventry Local School District: A 9.91-mill, five-year renewal levy for emergencies

• Coventry Township: A 2.25-mill, five-year renewal levy for fire services.

• Coventry Township: A 2.5-mill renewal and 1.5-mill increase for police services for five years.

• Cuyahoga Falls City School District: A 4.75-mill, five-year renewal for current expenses.

• Hudson City School District: A 1.5-mill, five-year renewal for acquiring real estate, building and equipment.

• Lakemore: A 0.25 percent income tax increase for general operations.

• Macedonia: A 0.5 percent income tax increase.

• Munroe Falls: A 0.25 percent income tax increase for general municipal operations.

• Munroe Falls: An additional 2.8-mill, five-year levy general operations.

• Norton City School District: A 3-mill, five-year renewal levy for general improvements.

• Springfield Township: A 3-mill renewal and 1.5-mill increase for police services.

• Springfield Township: An additional 1.8-mill, five-year levy for parks and recreation.

• Twinsburg City School District: An additional 6.9-mill permanent levy for current expenses.

Medina County

• Brunswick: A 0.65 percent municipal income tax increase for five years for safety forces.

• Gloria Glens Park: A 4-mill, five-year renewal levy and increase for current expenses.

• Harrisville Township Fire Disrict: A 2-mill, five-year renewal levy for fire service.

• Medina County Library District: A 1.5-mill renewal levy and increase for 10 years for current expenses.

• Montville Township: An additional, 1-mill five-year levy for roads and bridges.

• Spencer: An additional 4-mill, five-year levy for current expenses.

• Wadsworth: A 2.3-mill renewal levy and 0.2-mill increase for five years for ambulance/EMS services.

• Westfield Township: An additional 2.2-mill, 30-year levy to construct a community services building.

Portage County

• Aurora City School District: An additional 5.9-mill continuing levy for current expenses.

• Brady Lake: A question to dissolve the village.

• Crestwood Local School District: A $23 million bond issue for school buildings and an additional 0.5 mill permanent levy for improvements.

• Deerfield Township: An additional 1.5-mill, five-year levy for parks and recreation.

• Field Local School District: An additional 8.3-mill, five-year levy for curren texpenses.

• Ravenna Township: An additional 2-mill, five-year levy for EMS.

• Waterloo Local School District: An additional 8.25-mill continuing levy for current expenses.

Stark County

• Stark County: A 0.5 percent sales tax continuation to pay for criminal justice services for eight years.

• Alliance City Schools: A 2-mill, five-year renewal for building projects.

• Marlington Local Schools: A $15 million bond issue.

• Nimishillen Township: An additional 2-mill, five year fire levy.

• Plain Township Road District: A 1.5-mill, five-year renewal levy for roads.

• Sandy Township Police District: An additional 3-mill, five-year police levy.

• Tri-Division Ambulance District: An additional 1.5-mill, four-year levy for ambulance and EMS service.

• Tuslaw Local Schools: An additional 7.3-mill, five-year levy.

• Washington Township: An additional 0.75-mill, five-year fire levy.

Wayne County

• Baughman Township Road District: An additional 2-mill, five-year levy for road and bridges.

• Burbank: Three separate renewal levies — two 3-mill and a 4-mill — for current expenses.

• Chester Township: A 1-mill, five-year replacement levy for fire and ambulance services.

• Chippewa Local School District: A 1 percent income tax renewal for five years for current expenses.

• Dalton Local School District: A 2-mill, five-year renewal levy for current expenses.

• Orrville Public Library: A 0.75-mill, three-year renewal for current expenses.

• Triway Local School District: A 4.55-mill, three-year renewal levy for emergencies.

• West Salem: An additional 2-mill permanent levy for roads and bridges.

• Wooster City School District: An additional 1.75-mill, five-year levy for general improvements.
