Tony Romo has been listed as a full practice participant for the first time since the Dallas quarterback broke a bone in his back in a preseason game in August.
The 36-year-old Romo ran with the scout team in practice Wednesday. Rookie Dak Prescott remains the starter with the Cowboys (7-1) surging to the best record in the NFC with a seven-game winning streak.
Dallas visits Pittsburgh (4-4) on Sunday.
Coach Jason Garrett said the starting quarterback gets almost all the reps with the first team in practice, and that plan was no different this week.
Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who went 13-0 in the regular season as the starter when he was a rookie in 2004, said it would be “really hard to kind of change that position” with the Cowboys rolling the way they are.
Remaining in control
Ryan Tannehill says Miami Dolphins teammate Jarvis Landry needs to be careful in striking a balance between his fiery style of play and being out of control.
Landry drew a $24,309 fine two weeks ago for an illegal block that Buffalo Bills coach Rex Ryan described as a dirty play. And at times, the Dolphins receiver becomes demonstrative in showing frustration on the sideline.
After four games, Landry ranked second in the NFL in receptions with 31. In the past four games, he has 18.
Miami (4-4) has won three games in a row while adopting a run-oriented approach, but coach Adam Gase and offensive coordinator Clyde Christensen said this week they need to do a better job of getting the ball to Landry.
Titans face injuries
Neither DeMarco Murray nor rookie Derrick Henry practiced Wednesday, though Tennessee coach Mike Mularkey says they kept Murray out to rest the running back’s sore toe.
Murray played in last week’s 43-35 loss at the Chargers with the injury and Henry strained a calf in pregame warmups in San Diego. Mularkey says Henry looked better than anticipated and the Titans will see how much more Henry can do Thursday.
Mularkey says Marcus Mariota aggravated an ankle early last week. The quarterback practiced fully and was not listed on the injury report.
Right tackle Jack Conklin (elbow) was limited.
Left guard Quinton Spain, who has missed the last two games after hyperextending his right knee, practiced along with safety Rashad Johnson who also missed the last two games with a sore neck.
