Browns vs. Cowboys: Quick Hits
What went right: Provided rookie quarterback Cody Kessler is correct, he made it out of the game without any injuries that’ll force him to miss time. He took some big shots from the Cowboys, including one from defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence with 35 seconds left in the second quarter that drew a roughing-the-passer penalty. Kessler came up limping but stayed in the game. He had X-rays on his right leg afterward but said they were negative and he would be able to face the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night.
What went wrong: The Browns couldn’t tackle, cover or sustain drives on a consistent basis. Starting center Cameron Erving was ejected from the game for fighting during the opening possession. Cody Parkey also missed a 41-yard field goal. Other than that, everything was fine.
The bottom line: The Browns are making history in the worst ways. No wonder their fans were nearly outnumbered by Cowboys fans at FirstEnergy Stadium.
