Sunday’s developments

■ Nine-time Pro Bowl left tackle Joe Thomas sat out practice with a back issue, but coach Hue Jackson downplayed it. “Joe Thomas is inside [team headquarters],” Jackson said. “He just had a little flare-up of his back. He’ll be fine.” Thomas played Friday in the team’s 17-11 preseason-opening loss to the Green Bay Packers. Thomas missed practice time a few years ago with back issues, but he never missed a game. He has played every offensive snap of his career — all 8,959 of them. Jackson insisted Thomas’ streak isn’t in jeopardy. “He’s not going to [miss a snap],” Jackson said. “Things happen sometimes. As I’ve said, I’m always going to be protective of our guys. He’ll be fine. I’m not worried about Joe.”

■ Rookie wide receiver Ricardo Louis suffered a hamstring injury during the light, short, nonpadded practice. The team finished the session with seven receivers who are dealing with injuries. The others are Josh Gordon (quadriceps), Marlon Moore (undisclosed), Andrew Hawkins (hamstring), Corey Coleman (hamstring), Rashard Higgins (leg) and Terrelle Pryor (hand). Receiver Rannell Hall (fractured fibula) was waived/injured.

■ The rash of injuries isn’t expected to change Jackson’s plans to hold joint practices with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next week. “Everybody has a number of guys that are banged up,” he said. “That’s just training camp. That’s just the way it goes. We talked about it as a team today. No one is going to feel sorry for us because we have a few guys down.”

■ Inside linebacker Tank Carder and cornerback Eric Patterson intercepted passes from quarterback Josh McCown on consecutive plays during a seven-on-seven period in the red zone. Earlier, linebacker Barkevious Mingo broke up a pass McCown intended for running back Raheem Mostert.

■ Quarterback Robert Griffin III threw the ball away and into a neighbor’s backyard. He did the same twice in the spring.

■ Defensive end John Hughes missed his eighth consecutive practice because of a personal reason. Cornerback K’Waun Williams was also absent because of a personal reason. Neither were at Friday’s exhibition game.

■ Rookie tight end Seth DeValve (hamstring) participated in team drills for the first time since camp started.

■ Wide receiver Dennis Parks (shoulder) returned to practice.

Other injuries: Quarterback Austin Davis (concussion), cornerback Trey Caldwell (hamstring) and defensive lineman Nile Lawrence-Stample (shoulder) did not practice. Running back Glenn Winston (undisclosed) was limited.

Monday’s schedule: Practice from 3:15-5:45 p.m. It’s the last session of camp open to the public, and it’s sold out.
